Hi Cheryl! After his relentless teasing, I finally realized I had a paint roller on a long stick and he didn't. Gave me quite an advantage. ;-)

Paint fight with the hubby, huh? Bet everyone loved that :) Good for you -- don't know if I would have been brave enough for that or not. Wouldn't have wanted to get it in my hair! :)

Hugs,
Cheryl

We had another work day today - after church this morning we logged 8 more hours.

Walls painted - check.
Floors painted - check.
Stage floor repaired - check.

Exhausted? - check.

But the church looks awesome!

And to think that people assume Christians are ol' fuddy-duddies who never have any fun! Wish I could have been there! Love you!

Hi Felisol! Funny the things that stick in our memories, isn't it? The paint may not last forever, but the memories will. :-)

Dear Renae,
Your are giving my flashbacks to happy days of my youth, following my parents to the Pentecostal Church.
My uncle had become an old German barrack. It had to be torn down in a few weeks, and the church wanted the materials to modernize and expand the church.
The elderly women made food. The men did the dangerous work, tearing down, and we teenagers were set to draw out rusty nails.
Did we sing and laugh. My father, being the chief accountant on the big factory and also competitive, made statistics where everyone's effort was registered by the half hour.
The winner, father of my best friend got nothing, but honorable mentioning at the annual feast. I think that was more than he had expected.
We cycled 5 kilometers to and from after school. Nobody even thought about that.
The wonderful fellowship with room for everybody, and the loving spirit in which the work was done, still make me grateful.

The church of Norway, Lutheran, is governed and provided for by Norwegian tax money. It is not the same.
Even here it's always an opportunity to join in voluntary work of many kinds. we did more when Serina was a child, for the scouts, the choir e.t.c.

Nothing compares to the coming together and being needed for a common case . The blessings have lasted for 46 years.
Isn't there a word about that?
How God is multiplying his blessings?
