Great post! It’s easy to forget sometimes that we need to go through pain and suffering to become the men and women God wants us to be. We may not always understand right away why we go though troubles…but someday we’ll understand, and we’ll see that it was for our good. Thanks for the reminder!

Great post, Alyssa! I’m like you. I pray to be spared of hardship. I often ask God, “Lord, please make me a quick learner. I don’t want to have to go through the hard stuff to learn what you want me to learn!”

I would not have chosen to go through some of the things I’ve been through. But honestly, I am a much better person – much more the person God wants me to be – because of those things.

It’s a tough lesson.
