Twitterbug
Hello, dear friends.
I have something to tell you, and I’m a little embarrassed. Okay, a lot embarrassed.
This week, I signed up for Twitter.
Now, I had heard of Twitter. But I never in a million years saw myself actually taking part in it. I mean, the idea of zillions of people randomly typing their thoughts into cyberspace seemed, well, just a little bit ridiculous.
But earlier in the week, *Terry Whalin*, a writing friend of mine, suggested Twittering. I respect Terry, so I decided to at least give it a try.
Before I knew it, I was heading over to *twitter.com* and signing myself up!
Then, I was stuck. I had no clue what to do next. But Terry was kind enough to send along some tutorials, and I got it all figured out. And with the help of Judi, I even got my picture up. And you all know how I am about pictures. And anything online. I’m very challenged in that area.
Well, here is where it gets embarrassing. You see, twittering is actually fun! I can type random thoughts into cyberspace, and perhaps someone will listen. Perhaps no one will listen. But I get to pick and choose whose thoughts I’d like to hear, and they can choose me back, and, well, it’s just plain fun.
And addicting.
I twittered way too much this week. Am already planning a 12-step detox program. And I’ve only been twittering a few days.
But I will keep twittering. Just not quite as much, now that the new has worn off. So, if you’d like to follow me on Twitter (and I’m not suggesting you do . . . please don’t blame me if you become addicted . . . don’t say I didn’t warn you . . .) you can find me *here*.
And on a much more serious note, please be in desperate prayer for our entire town, as the Bulldawgs lost their first game of the season tonight. I’m very emotional (choke!), and don’t wish to discuss it (sniff!). Just please pray. (Sob!)
Love you all! May God bless each of you, over and over!

I bet the first loss was traumatic. I’m hoping the Texas Longhorns don’t get their first loss tonight. Maybe you can twitter through the grief??

Good idea, Alyssa. I can use one addiction to drown out the other one! LOL

Twitter? My Space? Face Book? No thanks! My computer cup is already running over. Maybe next year.
But ya’ll go at it and have all kinds of fun.
Blessings,
Jean

Me too, Jean. I know I’m nuts to have taken this thing on.
Look forward to dragging you in – next year!

Renae,
I refuse to be drawn into Twittering—no matter how many invitations I get, no matter how many friends tell me how great it is. I’m covering my ears—I can’t hear you. I’m covering my eyes—I can’t see your words.

LOL, Lillie! Good for you!

Renae,
I found you through Cheryl Barker’s blog. I really enjoyed the post you shared there. Very bold and extremely well written. I couldn’t agree more!
As for Twittering …the last thing I need is to spend MORE time with my computer!! Most of my friends don’t blog…or know how to even comment on mine!
Have fun with it, though.

Thank you so much, Kelligirl! I wish more people would show support for our leaders, instead of finding reasons to attack them.
As for Twittering – spending more time with my computer is the last thing I need to do, as well! I think from here on out, I’m going to try to tame it. I must admit, though. Twittering is a lot more fun than housework!
Blessings to you!

I must admit, I have never heard of twittering! I thought that is what birds do in the trees outside!! I may just have to check it out to see what it is like, but I know my computer cup runneth over, just like Jean’s. It is all I can do to keep up with my blog and a few blogs I like to visit. (And I have to say, Renae, just about anything is more fun than housework!)

Hi Jeanette! Yep. I can’t say I really recommend Twittering. But I have put a program on my computer that causes “Tweets” to come up as they occur, in a tiny box on the corner of my screen. I can glance, and if I want to read it, I can, and if I don’t, I ignore it. It also has a program where you can direct message people. Kind of like “chat”, I guess. So, if you and I are on the computer at the same time, we can “tweet” at one another. IF not, the tweets go to your e-mail, so you’ll get the message later.
It makes my head spin. As I told someone else the other day, I think I’m living in the wrong century! Little House on the Prairie seems more like me . . . but then again, think of all that housework! Ugh!

Renae, just now reading this post. Glad you’re having fun with twittering
I just took on Facebook not long ago and am having fun with it. Better resist twittering for now — I’m running out of time to keep up with everything! Of course, I said I wasn’t going to do Facebook, and then I did…

Awww, come on, Cheryl! You know you wanna!
Of course, I’m not on Facebook . . . yet.
