Happy Birthday, Charis
As I am writing this, there are six little girls in my living room having a dance contest. We just finished makeovers. My daughter, Charis, is turning eleven years old, and we are celebrating with a slumber party.
Oh, joy.
As you are sleeping sweetly, I will be doing crowd control. Feel free to stop by around 2 a.m. – we’ll be up.
In honor of Charis’ birthday, I let her choose the song for tonight. She likes to dance to this song – maybe another dance contest will come later.
Blessings to you all, and happy birthday to my wonderful, beautiful daughter. I am so glad you were born eleven years ago.
xx

Happy Birthday, Charis!! How wonderful for you. You’re on your way to becoming a beautiful woman of God. I know this because your mother is a wonderful example for you. God bless you today and with many more birthdays to come.

Thank you, Sarah. You are very kind. That is my prayer, that Charis become a godly woman.

Happy Birthday my Charis as I sit with tears streaming down my face!
How well I remember the day eleven years ago when I first held you – as well as so many days of you since then (Mimi! Save me!) You were, are, and will always be my princess – a replica of your precious mother. I love you.

Thank you, Jackie. Happy Mother’s Day to you, too. Funny, Charis is the one who turned me into a mom, and we celebrate our day together!

I loved reading this post and all the comments, too! What a wonderful thing for a mom and daughter to celebrate together. I know you don’t take that for granted, and I know someday Charis will treasure these memories, as well. Looking back on life being raised by a godly, loving, and quite often strict mom — well, there is just no replacement for it! God bless you both!

Thank you, Jeanette! You are right – Charis has been more of a blessing than I could ever describe. I pray she will someday know how much her mother loves her.
